Israel has been going ballistic because after the uprising Egypt may restrict Israeli access to the Suez Canal on the principle that it's an international waterway. This principle obviously doesn't apply to Iran though, whose use of it has been restricted since 1979 because of US and Israeli objections. Apparently Iran sending two warships through the Suez Canal on route to Syria is a provocation, but Israel sending nuclear armed submarines through it to patrol Iran's coastline is not.
